I see this is most likely an F model as it is still wearing olive drab and does not have the chin turret of the Gs which were left unpainted to save weight.

The Fortress was a lady and easy to fly in formation . could absorbs unbeliveable damage, but carried a small bombload and she was slow with the wright engines compared to the B-24 with pratt and whitneys. The B-24 was faster and carried a bigger bombload but was just plain hard work to get up high and maintain formation. The Davis wing was compromized by the semi retracted landing gear. Every mission was hard work, but we built over 14,000 of them. The Navy used them most effectively as long range patrol bombers and when attacked in the Pacific went down very low to protect their belly.
