Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

F-14 Tomcats served as the backbone of the US Navy�s fighter fleet for a quarter century, with the final examples updated F-14D Super Tomcat capable of air superiority as well as ground support roles. This is a Tomcat from VF-213 "Black Lions" off the USS Carl Vinson in 2002. The Tomcats are now retired, but live still in many memories as the quintessential modern fighter thanks to the movie "Top Gun."

Stu Shepherd has been an aviation illustrator for nearly twenty years. His work is mostly known by box cover art on aircraft model kits made by Revell and Monogram, for whom he has done over 300 images (now including car box art and Star Wars items too). Stu has also worked in the Computer Game and Internet Community industries. He also creates art in the Science Fiction and Fantasy Genres, with his strength in spaceship design and environments. Stu just completed his first novel Sci-fi, and will soon complete his second. He lives in Central California.
